Alan Corfield joined C&W on graduating in 1991. He worked in a technical capacity within the transmission arena until 2005 when left C&W to join Energis communications - worked mainly around access networks and SDH and led major projects in a technical capacity around introducing CATV based access infrastructure in the late 1990's and DSL through LLU in 2000/2001 before the telecoms market stagnated - then led the push for introduction of Ethernet and NG-SDH/MSPP through the stagnation. On joining Energis he took responsibility for New Technology Introduction for the Transport Layer. Within a year of joining Energis, Alan ended up back in C&W in the New Tech Intro role for the two, merged companies.
