ROBERTO MICALI received his doctor’s degree in Computer Science from Mathematical, Physical and Natural Science University, Turin (Italy) in 1990. Since 1991 he has been working in Telecom Italia Lab - TILAB (formerly CSELT, Centro Studi E Laboratori Telecomunicazioni), the Research and Development Center of Telecom Italia based in Turin. He has been involved in qualification and testing of data service equipment, such as Frame Relay, ATM, SNA/SDLC, X.25, ADSL and IP. From 1996 he is deeply involved in training courses on Data Networks and Technologies. In 1999 he works as a consultant for IP/MPLS networks deployment in Argentina, Bolivia and Spain. In 2002-2003 he works on UMTS network planning architecture with Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) in Italy. In 2004 and 2005 he supports the development of the Mobile Network Evolution Plan for TIM in Greece. In 2006 he supports the development of NGN architecture in Indonesia for Telkom Indonesia. From 2002 he attends as speaker several international telecommunication conferences in Europe, United Arab Emirates and Asia about technical issues such as Transport Networks for Mobile Operators, Broadband Networks, Packet Data Networks, Transport Network Strategies. In January 2004 he receives his second doctor’s degree in Theatre and Performing Arts from University of Turin (Italy) and in 2007 he publishes his dissertation about the use of theatre techniques in business (“Business Theatre”), for team building, public speaking and other purposes. From 2005 he works on Mobile Network planning and dimensioning in Argentina, Chile, Cuba and Brasil.
